We at Maarif School are very excited for the coming school year. Although it won't be exactly like any other new school year because of Covid 19, we have all been working hard, learning a lot and using new platforms and technology to deliver the same quality Islamic education our families have come to expect from us.
As you know, we made the difficult decision to go 100% remote for the first quarter. We will reassess in October and will re-open as soon as it is safe to do so. We know we haven't seen the last of Covid19 and we wanted to focus on starting strong remotely, rather than opening in person only to have to close shortly thereafter due to a case in school. (Current NJ DOE guidelines say if there is one case in a classroom it can be quarantined. Two cases in a school mean the whole school must close.)
We will be using Microsoft Teams for Education for our online communcations, classes, assemblies, assignments and other learning activities. This will streamline our classes and make the interface much simpler for students and teachers.
We also have a new educational management system, School Pro, which will make it easier for parents to check on grades, attendance and other facets of school. They can also reach teachers and administration easily.
Please check back here frequently as we will be posting more information in the coming days.
In the meantime, you can reach me at pamela.d'amato@us.maarifschools.org with any comments, questions and concerns.
Stay well, wear your mask, and in'sha'Allah we will "see you" soon.
Allah hafiz,
Sr. P;)
